Cottage Inn Pizza eyes aggressive franchise growth

Cottage Inn Pizza began 2017 with three franchise units in Michigan and one in North Carolina and plans to accelerate its franchising initiative during the final half of 2017, according to a press release.

"This year has been an incredibly inspiring time for Cottage Inn, and we are just a little past halfway through," Deborah Masse, Senior VP of Cottage Inn Pizza, said in the release. "We are well on our way to reaching our growth targets and making our gourmet pizza the go-to slice in communities across the country, and especially in the Southeast and Midwest, by the end of 2017."

The concept plans to have five new locations open or in development by the end of the year. It will also introduce a new concept, called Cottage Inn Taverna in New Hudson, Michigan, by the end of the year which serves beer, cocktails and wine along with pizza, according to the release.

"Cottage Inn Taverna is an exciting new addition to our brand, and it comes at a time as we're gearing up to smash through our growth plans for 2017," Masse said. "Our pizza is a mainstay of both college students and families in Michigan and with our steady expansion this year, and our new concepts including Cottage Inn Taverna, we're on track to bring our brand to pizza lovers across the country."
