Domino's adds cheese-less pizza in Isreal

December 23, 2013

Domino's Pizza has introduced a cheese-less vegan pizza at its Israel units. According to Haaretz, the new pizza features vegetables and a soy-based topping and sells for about $20.

NPR adds that the item's introduction was inspired by a Facebook campaign led by the group Vegan Friendly.

Domino's has 50 units in Israel.

Mumbai location a target for protestors

Meanwhile, a Domino's Pizza location was destroyed in a Mumbai, India, suburb late last week by protestors angry about the arrest of an Indian diplomat in New York. According to Reuters, the arrest and strip search of Devyani Khobragade for underpaying her housekeeper and visa fraud set off protests in India, most of which were directed at U.S.-based companies.

After the Domino's outlet was vandalized, Mumbai police said they were stepping up vigilance of U.S. businesses, including McDonald's.
