This week packs a double-whammy for pizza restaurateurs in the made-up holidays realm, with National Cheese Day taking place today, followed by National Pie Day (not to be confused with the more celebrated pizza made-up holiday, Pi Day, on March 14) on Wednesday. Domino's is among the first to cross the Pizza Marketplace news desk with its specials to honor these two occasions this week, all centered around carryout orders at the chain, a news release said.

From now through Saturday, Domino's customers can get a large two-topping carryout pizzas for $5.99, for all phoned, in-store, website- or app-placed orders.

"While some of the better-known holidays are over, celebrating fun unofficial holidays continues," Domino's spokesperson, Jenny Fouracre, said in the release. "We want cheese lovers, deal-seekers and all pizza pie fanatics to celebrate with our $5.99 large carryout pizzas."

Domino's now has more than 16,500 stores in 85-plus markets, with Q3 2019 gloal retail sales of more than $3.2 billion, including more than $1.6 billion in the U.S. alone.
