Donatos reformulates ingredients

Donatos Pizza has officially rid its pizzas, salads and subs of artificial flavors and colors, MSG and high-fructose syrup, according to a press release.

"Donatos has been committed to serving customers with great-tasting food since opening our very first shop in 1963," said Donatos Pizza President and CEO Tom Krouse. "The dedication to offering foods with clean labels, as well as to serving today's customers with great tasting food they can feel good about eating, is a natural continuation of that commitment."

The process began 18 months ago and involved more than 16 ingredients on Donatos' menu, according to the release.
