Fast Casual releases hiring and retention report

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The editors of Fast Casual magazine, and have released the special report "Hiring and Retention: How to Recruit, Train and Keep the Best Employees."
Fast Casual surveyed more than 100 restaurant operators and interviewed a panel of industry experts for their advice on successful hiring and retention in the restaurant industry. The report, delivered in PDF format, contains more than 50 data tables, results of a survey of more than 100 restaurant operators and expert commentary covering human resources issues, including recruiting, retention, training and turnover.
"Nearly every restaurant operator has become aware of the hidden costs of turnover," said report editor Richard Slawsky. "From the dollars spent paying a non-productive employee during the training process, to increased waste and the potential for lost sales due to customers receiving less-than-expected service, the cost of replacing a single experienced employee can easily run into thousands of dollars."
