Instagram: One marketer's take on why it may be a restaurant's best friend

There's a lot of buzz lately in the food service community about Instagram and its value as a visual marketing tool. That's part of the reason a Toronto-based marketer started delving into the platform's value and use across the food-service spectrum. 

And the good news is that Lakeshore Convention Centre Marketing Manager Sanjay Agnihotri was kind enough to not only do that research on Instagram, but then compile it in a nice infographic, which he is sharing with our readers today. Agnihotri said he found some of the statistics about the follower-ship of foodies who use Instagram to be astounding, with some showing as many as a million or more followers. 

But, as Agnihotri put it, "Visual businesses especially must be aware of how influential an Instagram page can be and it really does add credibility to a business. Food businesses simply have to be using Instagram these days. … I really do think that 2016 is the year we are finally seeing businesses exploit social media channels effectively and this is why I felt compelled to create an infographic on it."
