Pilot Flying J, Papa Murphy's give free pizza for the road or home oven

Not everyone will be spending Super Bowl Sunday next weekend sitting in front of a TV, and for those who have to hit the road Sunday, Pilot Flying J is treating guests who download or open its app to a free slice of its pizza. The chain is giving away free slices from Sunday, Feb.3 through Feb. 10  through its Pilot Flying J app.

The offer is redeemable at more than 300 Pilot and Flying J Travel Centers serving PJ Fresh Pizza. First-time app users receive an additional free drink of their choice. The offer includes slices from the chain's Mega Meatball LTO. 

Another free pizza offer happening now through this Sunday comes for those who'd prefer to take their pies and bake them at home. On Jan. 23, a.k.a. National Pie Day (not Pi Day, which is March 14, by the way, and also a big pizza holiday), take-and-bake brand, Papa Murphy's pledged to give away 100,000 of its ready-to-bake pies between now and Jan. 27, or until that number of pies is gone, according to Thrillist. 

The text-based promotion specifies that customers text "FREEPIZZA" to 90421. After responding to a few questions, customers will get a code for a free pizza. Codes are redeemable for one large regular-menu pizza with up to five toppings. 

The chain said that after claiming pizzas, customers are enrolled for the brands  text alerts with other discount codes or they can text "STOP" to halt the messages.
