&pizza comes 'home' to the Big Apple

Washington, D.C.-based &pizza is opening in the Big Apple next Tuesday, June 20, a news release said — which, as it turns out — is a homecoming of sorts for the brand. The chain's current 21 locations in the nation's capital, as well as Baltimore and Philadelphia, all reflect the cities and neighborhoods they "live" in. The New York location is expected to be the same in that regard.
The 15 West 28th St. location in NoMad, north of Madison Square Park and near Penn Station and the Empire State Building, will reflect the pace of the "city that never sleeps" and exemplify the brand's values of unity, connection and inclusion. Location No. 22 is also the first in the hometown of co-founder, CEO and creative director Michael Lastoria.

"The idea for &pizza was born in an art studio in West Chelsea, so the opportunity to bring the fully-realized concept back to its start is pretty rad," Lastoria said in a news release. "The pizza community in NYC is strong, and we look forward to adding some new flavor into the mix."

&pizza is also celebrating the NYC shop opening with partners such as Cereal Milk Cream Soda, Milk Bar and Mike's Hot Honey.
