Pizza Hut offers contests, apps, discounts to kick off NFL sponsorship

Pizza Hut is pulling out all the stops for its premier year as Official Pizza Sponsor of the NFL, beginning with a new digital platform within Hut Rewards called Game Plan, a news release said. The marketing vehicle for both the pro teams and the pizza brand allows fans to access special deals, receive kickoff reminders for their team and take a chance on weekly prizes.

Likewise, Pizza Hut has partnered with fellow NFL sponsors at Bose and New Era for the first giveaway which automatically enters all those who enroll in Game Plan to win the Homegating Kickoff Kit in week one of the season. That package includes a Bose speaker, New Era hat, $100 Pizza Hut gift card and $50 NFL Shop gift card. Game Plan prizes will be announced every Thursday going forward through the season.

Fans can enroll in Game Plan by visiting, signing in with their Hut Rewards account and choosing their favorite NFL team. Once enrolled, fans will be automatically entered to win limited-edition prizes each week, including a grand prize trip to Super Bowl LIII in Atlanta. Every Pizza Hut order placed through a customer's corresponding Hut Rewards account counts as an additional entry to win prizes - limit one additional entry, per day.

"Pizza has the power to bring sports fans together, and for years, Pizza Hut has served as a gameday centerpiece in living rooms across the country," said Pizza Hut, U.S. Chief Brand Officer Marianne Radley in the release. "Now, as the Official Pizza Sponsor of the NFL, we're going to celebrate football fans all season long."

Since becoming the Official Pizza Sponsor of the NFL, Pizza Hut has opened local partnerships with the Seattle Seahawks, Pittsburgh Steelers, Los Angeles Chargers and Los Angeles Rams. These partnerships will come to life for fans throughout the season through local activations, player partnerships, social impact initiatives and more.

The brand also unveiled its new packaging for the NFL season featuring the collective use of all 32 NFL team marks. The special-edition pizza boxes will be available in all Pizza Hut locations during the regular season.

Likewise, Pizza Hut introduced the Beanbag Blitz app, which recreates the classic tailgate game cornhole and makes it compatible with the NFL pizza boxes via Augmented Reality technology. Once the app is downloaded, players can unlock the AR component by lining their camera up with the top of the special-edition box. Once unlocked, the game is played as it normally would be.

Finally, on gameday, Pizza Hut will be offering large two-topping pizzas for just $7.99 all season long.
