Tis the season of giving, and Pizza Hut locations in West Virginia, Ohio and Kentucky are bestowing a total of 1,750 pizzas to local emergency responders, including fire and police departments, as well as hospitals and shelters, according to a release. The event, "A Day of Giving," was created six years ago by Tabbassum Mumtaz, founder of Ampex Brands and owner of 35 Pizza Hut units in the three states.
"We are so honored to be a part of this community and we wanted to take an opportunity during the season of giving to give something back to our neighbors," Mumtaz said. "We recognize that it's a difficult time for many, and we hope 'A Day of Giving' will be an example that inspires other local businesses to lend a hand."
