Rotolo's pizzeria goes beyond the pie for spring LTOs

Baton Rouge-based pizzeria Rotolo's has added five nonpizza LTOs to its offerings to address everything from vegetarians and weight watchers to the poultry passionate and meat eaters. The seasonal items, available through May 6, include salad, chicken and sandwich options. 

The spring lineup begins with a spinach salad tossed in a lemon-honey vinaigrette and balsamic reduction and topped with onions, tomatoes, bacon, Parmesan, and feta. A classed-up version of Buffalo chicken combines chicken, onions, green peppers and mushroom in buffalo sauce, served on romaine with croutons, mozzarella and ranch or honey mustard dressing. Three sandwich options include an upscale grilled cheese, with mozzarella, cheddar, parmesan and feta on a toasted baguette, served with tomato basil soup; a sausage-and-pepper baguette combo; and a blend of Italian sausage, romaine, parmesan and Caesar dressing on a toasted baguette.

"Our team is constantly experimenting with seasonal ingredients in order to ensure that we are serving our guests the freshest dishes possible," owner Mitch Rotolo Jr. said in the release. 

Rotolo's won gold at the World Pizza Games in 2016. The chain has more than 30 franchises throughout Louisiana, Texas, Alabama and Florida.
