TouchBistro adds Pay at Table service in PayPal app

TouchBistro today announced that it has integrated the Pay at Table service in the PayPal app with its TouchBistro mobile point-of-sale solution for tableside ordering.

Customers at any participating TouchBistro location in North America can now use the PayPal app on their smartphones to access, view and pay for their food and drinks without asking their server for their bill or waiting for them to process the transaction.

"There are two pain points that we have identified in the dining experience - ordering and paying - and we are now solving both with the use of mobile technology," said Alex Barrotti, CEO and founder of TouchBistro in a company press release. "Restaurants that are using TouchBistro's mobile POS solutions for tableside ordering together with the Pay at Table service can now save on average 7 minutes per table from the time they seat a customer until they leave the table. This is significant as it enables restaurants to serve more customers and in turn increases their revenues."

To use Pay at Table service, customers check in to the restaurant from the PayPal app when they arrive, and the server uses the TouchBistro app to assign them to a table or seat. When the server places the customer's food or drink order from within the TouchBistro app, the details are automatically reflected in real time on the customer's mobile device.

Customers then tap the "See Bill" button in the PayPal app to view the bill. Customers can also add a tip, split the bill and check out with PayPal.

Once customers confirm payment, transaction details are updated in the TouchBistro app, enabling servers to immediately see when the customer's bill has been settled.

This real-time integration between TouchBistro and the Pay at Table service in the PayPal reduces wait times for customers ready to pay their bill and leave, and minimizes credit card processing times. It also enables restaurants to turn tables faster.

Restaurants that use TouchBistro POS solutions across North America and have a PayPal account can immediately enable the integrated Pay at Table service.
