Affordable Health Benefits Coalition launches

Nov. 7, 2013

The Affordable Health Benefits Coalition has been launched by a group of organizations, including the National Council of Chain Restaurants, with the common goal of advancing policy ideas that they feel will help people obtain more affordable health coverage.

The newly-formed AHBC is chaired by National Retail Federation Vice President and Employee Benefits Policy Counsel Neil Trautwein and directed by Stacey Rampy, a principal at Mehlman Vogel Castagnetti.

The coalition's members believe that in order to encourage as many Americas as possible to obtain coverage, it is critical that lawmakers and regulators address issues within the law that could negatively impact the affordability of coverage, a news release said.

"The Affordable Health Benefits Coalition seeks to focus the health care debate on the affordability of health care coverage," Trautwein said. "The AHBC will promote regulations and non-partisan policies that improve the affordability of coverage and care."
