Boston's Pizza has named longtime executive Sergio Carvallo president of its U.S. division, where he will focus on franchise profitability, brand growth, operational excellence and guest experience, the company announced in a news release.
Carvallo joined Boston's Pizza more than a decade ago and opened the company's Mexico City office in 2015, leading its expansion to 28 restaurants. He was named president of the Boston's Pizza brand in the U.S. and Mexico in January 2026.
"I am confident that my experience building high-performing teams has prepared me for this new challenge," Carvallo said in the release. "What excites me most is the opportunity to lead in the U.S. market, one of the largest and most competitive in the world. The challenge is significant, but so is the potential."
Carvallo said his strategy will include strengthening collaboration among franchisees, sharing best practices and improving profitability through menu optimization, operational consistency and enhanced team training. "We want to create stronger synergies among franchisees, share best practices and improve profitability through menu optimization, operational consistency and enhanced team training," he said in the release.
Cheryl Treliving, CEO of Treliving Private Investments Ltd., Boston Pizza's parent company, said in the release that Carvallo's experience in Mexico gives him a unique perspective as he takes on the U.S. business. "His deep understanding of the Boston's Pizza system and experience growing the brand in Mexico give him a unique perspective on supporting franchisees and building a stronger business," she said.
Carvallo also plans to build on Boston's Pizza's "two experiences under one roof" concept, which combines a family-friendly restaurant with a sports bar. "Our two-experiences-under-one-roof concept is highly relevant and versatile," he said. "By modernizing existing restaurants and clearly communicating our value proposition, we can build on the success we've achieved in other markets."
