Domino's stock is pretty hot stuff, so the fact that the chain is now making shares of that stock available through a new contest for its loyalty program members is likely to inspire more than a few entries. The chain's Piece of the Pie rewards program members can now win 10 free shares of Domino's stock for their participation. That's a nice chunk of change since the brand closed trading Monday on the New York Stock Exchange at $166.29, according to Yahoo Finance.
"Prior to today, Domino's Piece of the Pie Rewards members earned points toward free pizza. Now, we're literally giving our customers a piece of the pie, in the form of shares of stock and a share of store profits," Domino's USA President Russell Weiner, said in a news release. "Each month, 25 lucky Piece of the Pie Rewards members will each be randomly selected to win 10 shares of Domino's stock, now through November 2017. Whether they take the shares and start building a stock portfolio or sell them at market price, one thing is for sure — it's all for the love of pizza!"
Piece of the Pie Rewards members can also win cash as well by following @Dominos on the chain's Instagram or Twitter accounts. Entrants must post a photo and caption on those social media channels, using #PieceofthePieContest through April 16 to be eligible for that prize. Domino's will reward 50 members with a $10,000 check. Additionally, 10 of those winners will receive a trip to Domino's world headquarters in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The chain said the combined social media/loyalty program promotion will ultimately award $1 million worth of stock and prizes to its fans.
The chain also hopes to attract some employees in coming days, according to a news release, particularly in the Phoenix-area. where 59 corporate-owned locations collectively are looking to hire a total of 300 people to fill positions for delivery drivers, customer service representatives and assistant managers, according to the release.
