Marco's Pizza helps unemployed veterans

Marco’s Pizza celebrated its 500th franchise by reaching out to unemployed veterans. In anticipation of its Wilmington, N.C., store, customers were encouraged to donate $1 to the 500 Strong charity Marco’s initiated. According to a news release, $50,000 in contributions will go to the USA Cares Job Assistance Program to help 500 veterans obtain jobs. 

Hundreds of veterans are employed by Marco's as franchise owners and staff. The pizza chain, which expects to open 200 more stores this year, also belongs to the International Franchise Association’s VetFran program to assist veterans in buying locations, the release said.
