Blaze tops Papa Murphy's, Marco's in 2019 Market Force customer ratings

Pasadena-based brand-on-growth-hormones, Blaze Pizza, topped Market Force's 2019 survey of best QSR brands as chosen by consumers. Early results of the study — to be released next week in full — indicated that the relative newcomer beat other more well-established pizza brands, including Little Caesar's, which landed dead last, according to the report. 

With more than 300 restaurants in 42 states and five countries, Blaze excelled in this wildly competitive segment of limited service, largely through its top ratings in all customer experience areas aside from "staff friendliness." Marco's Pizza claimed the top spot in staff friendliness.  

Second place in customer rankings for the pizza category went to recently privatized take-and-bake chain, Papa Murphy's, followed by Marco's Pizza in third and Domino's in fourth. Those three brands all scored well ahead of larger and perhaps better-known brands, like Papa John's and Pizza Hut, which tied at fifth place, followed by Little Caesar's, at the bottom of the customers' choices. 

Last year in the rankings, buffet-style brand, Pizza Ranch, took home a surprise first place in the survey, but this year the Midwest brand failed to get enough votes to make the list at all. 

As for the top picks this year, Blaze Pizza was also the clear winner for best atmosphere, curb appeal and healthful options, and tied for first with Marco's for its speed of service. Marco's landed in the top three in every rating area, except value.
