Hershey Entertainment & Resorts (HE&R) is bringing Mellow Mushroom to Pennsylvania for the first time, with an 8,000-square-foot restaurant expected to open in downtown Hershey in fall 2027, the company announced in a news release.
The restaurant will be owned and operated by HE&R and the location will offer dine-in, takeout and delivery. The restaurant also will put a Hershey spin on Mellow Mushroom's signature retro-psychedelic atmosphere, incorporating elements inspired by the town's chocolate heritage and local history.
"We create experiences guests can't find anywhere else, and Mellow Mushroom will be no exception," Jason Heath, vice president of resort operations for HE&R, said in a company press release. "It will be a Mellow Mushroom that could only exist on Chocolate Avenue. We can't wait to welcome visitors and neighbors for stone-baked pizza, great sandwiches and a few sweet surprises, whether they're spending the day at Hersheypark, staying at our resorts or catching a show."
Ahsan Jiva, EVP of strategy at Mellow Mushroom, called the partnership with HE&R a "natural fit," pointing to Hershey's status as a major tourism destination.
"Hershey Entertainment & Resorts knows how to create experiences people come back for, and we're excited they chose Mellow Mushroom for this destination," Jiva said in the release. "Together, we'll bring our stone-baked pizza and unmistakable atmosphere to a place that welcomes millions of guests each year."
